I've been so swamped this summer with custom orders while trying to make new items every month for Art and Flea! I apologize for the lack of posts lately but I also have a day job!
Here are a few new things I'm trying to get done for the fair.

Last fair I had a lot of requests for magnets so I made a bunch of clips with magnets for duo purpose!

SWEETS DECO Cupcakes for Japan Donation!

HI my Kawaii friends!
This is an update to my continuing efforts to support relief for the victims of the Japan earthquake and tsunami.
I made my first donation to the Red Cross today! In total I sold 10 cupcakes so far from the Etsy shop, here on the blog, and a few at the Art and Flea fair. Thank you so much to all that supported! And as promised I have matched that total to donate a final total of $200!
To my new Kawaii Friends who helped, please send me pics of you with your cupcakes to put in the customer appreciation gallery!

This is a re-post of sweets that I made exclusively for the most Kawaii store in all of Spain called Madame Chocolate! Please visit their website with the link to the right --------------------------------> I swear it will be the cutest web store you have ever shopped in!
Owner Blanca, started a small store a year ago selling Japanese, Kawaii, Lolita, Hime, etc. and it got so popular that they just moved into a bigger, more beautiful space! They are renovating a historic building and it should be opening soon! It's in Barcelona for friends who live out there. I can't wait to see pictures!
I made a new logo button for the web store too. Hope they like it!

Pinechan Cafe soy pancakes and sweets!

Hi kawaii friends! Hope you are all well!

Today I went with my sister and her hubby to visit a friends new Cafe in Waikiki called Pinechan Cafe. It is next door to the popular Pineapple County boutique, and in the same space as Genius Lounge sake bar. Since the bar is not running during the day, Chef Shige has turned the space into a cafe that serves soy based, breakfast and sweets! Although it is not a Vegan alternative, every item has soy incorported into it. I found this to be true because I could taste a rich, deep, soy flavor in everything we tried!

Owner and operator, Shigesan, was a Pastry chef in Japan for 8 years before coming and falling in love with Hawaii. Because of his love for Japanese food, he recognized that there is a growing market for healthy alternatives like tofu and is testing out his concept at Pinechan Cafe! I think it's a great idea and hope it continues to grow!

There's a lovely patio with outside seating.

We tried 2 different Soy shakes. One strawberry, and I am loving the banana one here! It really had a rich soy flavor that I've never tasted anywhere else!

Soy milk omelette with Cheddar. The soy milk makes it oh so fluffy!

Veggie salad on a soy pancake! Really light and healthy!

Teriyaki Kilbasa with salad on a soy pancake. This was a winner! The combanation of the savory sausage and slightly sweet soy pancake works very well! The salad adds a nice refreshing crunch too!

Peanut Butter cream soy pancakes! The kids are gunna love this!

Soy pancakes with Strawberries and Blueberries! A sweeter option!

Shigesan, workin on my omelette!

I really enjoyed everything and although we had tons of pancakes, I didn't feel heavy, like after a typical American breakfast!

It was a little too early for desserts, but we are difinitely going back soon for those!

Here's a little about the fresh tofu they use:

Daizu Tei's Homemade Tofu!
Daizu Tei's tofu is made using only specially picked natural grown soybeans.
The concentration of soymilk is 15% which is #1 in the US!
It's hard to find tofu like this in Japan too!
AND
The tofu has a rich taste because only the top quality natural bittern
from Okinawa, Izu, and Hawaii are used.
Soybeans have ZERO CALORIE!
But they are rich in minerals and has the most prominent nutrition balance.
Daizu Tei's tofu is recommended for people that want to eat healthy!

Birthday Sweets!

I had lots of sweets on my birthday! My dear co worker was so kind to make me a sugar free jello loaded with fresh fruits! It was amazing! I also went out to dinner with my sister and her husband and we had this delicious Okinawan sweet potato pie! It was topped with Haupia, a kind of Hawaiian coconut pudding and it sat on a ginger graham crust! We also couldn't resist the green tea shaved ice with sweet red beans and ice cream! I had to skip all the creamy stuff but it was still sooooooo good!

Today is the 119th anniversary of the first Ice Cream Sundae created in my heart city New York!
Yay! So we should celebrate and eat lot's of ice cream! Soy for me.=(

But today I wanted to share a kawaii item I got for Moo Moo while trolling Etsy for Japan relief items to help out with! I found this Japanese artist that hand makes the cutest dog collars and leashes. Her name is Mia and her shop is Mia's Closet. She uses kawaii Japanese fabrics and sews everything from scratch! It is very high quality at a affordable price. She is also donating part of the proceeds to help with the Japan tsunami relief efforts! Moo loves her new goodies!

Hi Kawaii Friends!
I created these special, limited edition cupcake straps, to raise funds for the relief efforts in Japan!
My whole family is there, and I wanted to help them and all the thousands of people who were left with absolutely nothing. Will you help too?
I will donate 100% of the proceeds to the Red Cross at the end of April. I will also match the total! I will be posting the results here on my blog.
This is a handmade clay miniature! It's a vanilla cupcake topped with a yummy sauce, vanilla frosting,rainbow sprinkles, a cute red cherry and little heart candies to show our love for Japan! I made little Japanese flags to show our support too!
The white strap, easily removes with a lobster clasp, and can be strung onto anything! Just clip the cupcake back on after you've put it on your phone, bag, keychain, rear view mirror, etc!

I've been deathly ill this week with a weird cold but luckily I didn't get a sore throat or cough! I managed to finish some sweets. SWEETS DECO Flakey pastry tutorial for Genny!

Hi friends!
Thank you for the warm wishes and thoughts. We are still in the dark but hoping for the best.

On to a request from kawaii friend, Genny! She asked how to achieve a flakey look in pastries. I applaude her for trying the obvious methods like, rolling the clay out thin and stacking layers, or adding something to the clay to add texture, or even cooking it! (Remember it's made from paper so be careful with heat!)
So for her hard work, I promised to show her the trick to achieve the illusion of the clay being "flakey"!
It's really only one step but all you have to do is run a sharp knife through the clay many times. Like creating little slits to achieve that thin, layered look!

Sending PRAYERS and HOPE to JAPAN

Hi friends.
As you may have seen, there has been a major natural disaster on the east coast of Japan on the main island. There was actually a 8.9 Earthquake followed by a terrible Tsunami.
All of my immediate family live in the effected areas and we are very worried because we cannot get in touch with most of them. One aunt was able to get through and she said her roof caved in!
We also experienced a Tsunami scare here in Hawaii but the warning has been lifted. Minor damage to some boats and harbors but no reported injuries.
Please help us send Japan our thoughts and love and hopefully my family members are safe.
We should also help in any way because the damage will take a long time to get back to normal.
It is a very sad and worrisome day for me and I can't help but work on some sweets to calm my nerves.
I'll show you some new stuff later!

Hi Friends!
Today I want to showcase the work of Ryoko Kato. She is the only "sweets deco" instructor at a accredited school in Japan! She found me through my blog, and we became friends, so we decided to do a little swap since our styles are so different!
This is what I got!

A Macaron Charm! It looks soooooo real! I love her sophisticated colors and the attention to every little detail.

The Macaron is only around 2 inches! Look at the tiny seeds in the juicy orange!

Love it!

She also included a full set of the Lipton Spoon Sweets Strap Series! I almost cried!

They are so Kawaii! These come with limited edition bottles of Lipton tea in Japan! You know how I love my miniatures!

Yay! Deco supplies! She also wanted me to try her favorite brand of acrylic paints.

Tons of yummy candy! Some of which I will make molds out of with Oyumaru.

SWEETS DECO Angel and Chocolate Molten Lava Cakes

Hello friends!
Thank you to all my new followers and kawaii friends who have left me such wonderful comments so far!
I really appreciate it, and it gives me encouragement to keep persuing my passion for clay crafting!
I am currently working on the largest orders so far, and negotiating with two retailers to carry my sweets!
I am so excited and overwhelmed at the same time! Unfortunately, this means I will have to skip this months Art and Flea fair. =( Hopefully I can get enough done for next month! Remember, I still have a
9-5!
So besides the orders I squeezed in these little cakes! One is like a Angel Food type with sauce and the others are like a Chocolate Molten Lava Cake.

I has been a while since I last posted because I was busy with custom orders and preparing for another craft fair! It was a great venue and I did way better than I expected!

A big Mahalo to all the locals and some visitors who took a look, chatted, encouraged, and purchased from me! I had so much fun, and met so many interesting people. The guy next to me was making balloon animals and made me a moo moo!
If you are in Hawaii, Art and Flea is held at the end of each month at Fresh Cafe near the Ward area of town.
I sold out of a couple of things but will be posting a few left overs over the weekend.

Happy sweet Saturday friends!
I've been working on loading up on candy to start some new cupcakes! My process is usually to make the cakes first, and while they are drying I will make the sweets that go onto the frosting!

Jelly Beans.

Tiny hard candies.

Polymer clay ropes that will be cut into little jimmies!

Floating candy domes,bears,and hard candies for other projects.

Oh and a soft serve shaped candy!

My mama sent me some Wood Formo clay from Japan!

Dries kind of heavy like ceramic but it has a nice grainy-ness to it that makes it look like real pie crust!

Little tart crusts.

Prepping the cupcakes to get frosted and sweetified!

After I finish these today, Moo and I will be going to the beach before it starts raining, which is in the forecast. She can now dunk her head under the water to get her toy! It's so amazing to see her do this now because she was so afraid of the water before. Looks like she learned to breath out of her nose when diving. I can see the bubbles blowing out!

Happy new years eve friends!
I made a few more large donuts in Chocolate!
I am also testing out some jellie whip on different products for a new collection. I simply used silicone and paint. It takes up to 2 weeks for it to dry and become transparent!

We are having a thunder storm right now! Since I was stuck inside all day, I managed to finish a few new things!
I made some triple scoop ice cream parfaits. I will sweeten them up with more candy later and add a clip to the lollipop to hold photos.

Aloha friends! It's been a little wet here in Hawaii but nothing compared to the Mainland!
No new stuff to show today, so I want to show some old stuff. It's interesting to see my progression of how many details I put into the work to make it look realistic. It took a lot of trial and error but it was well worth it!

Hi! Hope everyone is having a festive weekend!
Since I was working so much with stars, my next project will be with hearts!
I also finished the bigger donut. It has a strawberry jam smear,drizzled in chocolate sauce and sprinkled with coconut.
The jam is simply glaze tinted with paint!

Thats it for now. Hawaii is having a severe storm right now. Moo even had to put her sweater on!

Hello Sweeties!
I made a bunch of new cherries over the weekend! They are not finished yet but I experimented with a bunch of different colors!
I just need to add the stems and give them a finishing clear coat.

I also wanted to show a of Moo Moo!

We've been taking her to the beach to get her used to the water.

I love this pic! She found this heart shaped rock and played with for a good hour!

She eventually dug a really deep hole and buried it.

SWEETS DECO Candy and Cases

Hi!
Not much today. Just some new candy colors!

I tried using water colors intesad of acrylics this time.

I like how they came out! Some are too dark though, and will not be as transparent.

I wish I had made more blue ones. I am out of Sukerukun and won't be back in Japan till January so I purchased a cheaper version off of a Japanese Etsy seller. I'll let you guys know how that product works!

These were a test! I added a silver mettalic paint. It has a nice, glittery, sparkle to it but also a slight grey hue now. Trial and error!

I'm also posting a few new cases to the shop now.

SWEET DECO Loaded Pill Cases

Hi!

I made these two new items. They are small containers with compartments and a mirror!

The first one is a chocolate themed case. I was experimenting with heating the clay to give it some texture and made a pastry of sorts, stuffed with whipped cream, and smothered in roasted caramel sauce!

The other one is more of a candy theme and has lot's of color! I like the pink jelly!

Here's what the case looks like inside.

I really like how these came out and regret not getting more of the cases.

SWEET DECO Floating Candy Star Night Light!

Aloha!
It's been rainy here in Hawaii, so I've been staying in and working on more projects!
Here's a new product. I found these cute little star night lights, and attached my floating candy discs with a star cut out on them! I love how it came out! The light shines through perfectly, and even through some of the more transparent candies! The package says that they are LED lights and will last for up to 14 years! I don't know about that but you save 95% on electricity opposed to a regular type of night light. All's you have to do is stick it in the socket!

I will be adding this one and a few other designs, to the shop soon!

Hi!
Happy holiday weekend! I am about to go driving around the island with some friends, but first wanted to share some new donuts I made.

Dark chocolate dipped and covered in coconut!

These are 100% paper clay guys! The donut, chocolate, and coconut shavings!

Chocolate dipped, candy sprinkled donuts!

These are dipped in strawberry, drizzled with vanilla, and dusted with cocoa powder!

Blackberry jelly donuts.

I put a little powdered sugar on top!

These are about 1&1/2 inches across. I am planning to make sets of fridge magnets with them! I will post the finished product soon!

Hi friends!
Here are some new glazed donuts and candies!

These are French Cruellers with a simple sugar glaze.

I also made little berries with resin to get that real juicy look!

Large strawberries. The one on the left is golden. I will make charms with these as soon as I figure out how to make the tops.

I made more floating candy sodas. I put tiny straws in them!

I also worked on a whole bench of gummie bears and hard candies!

Some of the bears have little flavor bits in them.

Here are some new Heart floating candy cases.

A new batch of sprinkles.

I am working on making a good stock of new items for the holidays now and making new packaging.

My favorite mascara by Canmake! This is the one thing I requested and she had a hard time finding it but she did and I'm happy!

Hi sweeties!
Here is a continuation of my new resin projects!
I found some ice stick molds and filled them with candies and the rainbow strawberries. I painted each little seed on the strawberries and some are kind of messy because of my unsteady hands! I also added little stems this time.

These sticks are around 3&1/2 inches long.

I will be making these into keychains paired with the Gummi Bears and some other charms.

I am now working on some sticks with some different sweets in them, like ice cream.

SWEETS DECO candy, jellies, and gummies!

Hi!
So my sisters wedding has passed and I now have some free time to get back to my sweets! It was alot of fun and the weather was perfect!

We could see all of Waikiki from the ceremony!

It was held at the famous pink hotel, The royal Hawaiian.

I made so many candies the last time so I used them to make new floating candy charms.

I realized that if I put to many sprinkles it's hard to see all the candy so I also made some without them.

I also put in some of those colorful strawberries!

Here are some floating candy Jellies.

No sprinkes in these.

I found this cute mold on ebay! I love it!

Made this charm with beads hanging in the center of the star.

I also made these cute Gummie Bears! This is simply resin and acrylic!

These bears are a little larger than the average ones so they work well for making them into charms.

I put a little to much color in the pink ones so they look kind of creamy. They were my first batch so I learned to put less color!

Trial and error people!

Little hard candy musical notes! These came out perfect and really look like they are edible!

I'm having fun with resin and will be making alot more! I'm really happy with the Gummie Bears so I want to make tons of cute colors!

This weekend I tried some new things! Here is one of them.

Ice cream sundae clowns!

I'm also planning to put some whip cream aroud the rim and of course put alot more sweets everywhere!

I put them on my wall paper!

I also made a bunch of colorful strawberries from resin clay.

I will be using these with the candies and lollipops I made earlier to decorate the stars and hearts cookies!

Hello friends!
Yesterday I noticed that I was running low on my candy supply so I made new ones!

I made a bunch of mini lollipops, some balls, star sprinkles, and hard candies stamped with K for Kawaii!

I put a little too much pigment in the clay for the lime colored ones so the darker ones on the bottom left will not become transparent. Oh well!

Here's my finger in the pic for scale. The little ones are about 2 inches!

I also made some larger sized cookies. I wanted a bigger size so I can really load the candy decorations on there! I will post the outcomes next week since the clay for the candy takes several days to dry.

Last but not least, here is a sweets topped tart!

It's around the size of my palm. I was planning to make it into a card holder but I am not sure yet.

Secret Garden

So I came home yesterday and the neighbor came over and said that Moo was barking for 3 hours straight! He thought she was injured but noticed she was barking towards the back yard and when he took a closer look, there was a turtle hanging out in the grass! He had to come over and move it into the bushes so Moo would stop freaking out.
Here he is...

He is a soft shelled snapping turtle. They can snap a finger off!

For you animal lovers, we safely put him back into the river behind the yard. Hope he doesn't get lost again!

(We really had to hold Moo back!)
